









The Faculty of Commerce and Management at Assam down town University organized a session under the Swasthya Management Dialogue – Lecture Series on the topic “AI and ML in Value-Based Healthcare Delivery”.
The session featured Mr. Sagnik Saha, Facility Director, Narayana Hospital, Guwahati, as the esteemed guest speaker. The event was coordinated and warmly welcomed by Dr.Dimpy Pathak Das Das, Assistant Professor, FCM, while Dr. Seema Sharma, Dean, FCM, felicitated the guest.
Mr. Saha began the session by distinguishing between value and price in healthcare and explaining the interrelationship between AI, ML, Deep Learning (DL), and Natural Language Processing (NLP). He elaborated on how these technologies aid in clinical decision-making, predictive analysis, and personalized patient care, emphasizing the shift from volume-based to value-based healthcare delivery.
The lecture was designed for students of the MBA in Healthcare Management program to enhance their understanding of how Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) are reshaping modern healthcare systems. The session aimed to introduce students to the fundamental concepts of AI and ML, their applications in healthcare, and their contributions toward value-based healthcare models that focus on improving patient outcomes while optimizing costs. The session concluded with an interactive Q&A, leaving students inspired to explore the intersection of technology and healthcare more deeply.
