Pre-Conference Workshop on Osteopathic Manual Therapy Empowers 36 Physiotherapy Students Ahead of Assam Physiocon 2025

Assam down town University, as part of its academic partnership with Assam Physiocon 2025, successfully hosted a one-day Pre-Conference Workshop on Osteopathic Manual Therapy. 

The workshop welcomed 36 enthusiastic participants from various physiotherapy institutions across the region, highlighting a shared dedication to strengthening manual therapy expertise and clinical reasoning competencies.

The session placed strong emphasis on biomechanical dysfunctions of the pelvis and sacrum, examining how they affect posture, mobility, and overall human movement. Participants received hands-on training in osteopathic diagnostic techniques and corrective manual approaches, with a special focus on precision, palpation, and therapeutic application.

The workshop was led by Dr. Ujwal Bhattacharya, Professor and Dean of Pratiksha Institute of Allied Health Sciences. His expert demonstrations, detailed explanations, and interactive teaching methodology provided valuable insights into pelvic mechanics, sacral torsions, and osteopathic correction principles.

This initiative enriched the practical skills of emerging physiotherapists, also fostered academic collaboration and knowledge exchange among institutions, setting an insightful and engaging tone for the upcoming Assam Physiocon 2025.
