POSH Awareness Session Held to Promote a Safe, Inclusive and Harassment-Free Workplace

Assam down town University organised a POSH Awareness Session on “Creating a Safe and Inclusive Workplace, aimed at strengthening awareness and fostering a culture of respect, dignity, safety, and inclusiveness across the University.

The session was conducted for Deans and Department Heads, highlighting their vital role in fostering a professional and harassment-free workplace and strengthening awareness of the Prevention of Sexual Harassment (POSH) framework.

The session featured Ms. Kavery Bhattacharyya, HR Manager-cum-Additional Personnel Manager, down town Hospital Ltd., as the Resource Person. She provided valuable insights into workplace conduct, prevention of sexual harassment, reporting and redressal mechanisms, and institutional responsibilities under the POSH framework.

The session enhanced awareness among academic and administrative leaders regarding professional conduct, workplace responsibilities, reporting mechanisms, and the importance of maintaining a safe and respectful environment. It also reinforced the role of leadership in promoting dignity, sensitivity, inclusiveness, and zero tolerance towards inappropriate workplace behaviour.
