Outreach Team Conducts Public Awareness Program on Burn Prevention and Heart Health at Uttar Pub Jatiya Vidyalaya

Assam down town University, through its Outreach and Extension Committee in collaboration with the Faculty of Paramedical Sciences, organized a Public Awareness Program on Burn Prevention and Care, along with an Awareness Drive on Heart Disease Prevention (Wear Red Day) at Uttar Pub Jatiya Vidyalaya.

The session on burn prevention addressed common causes of burn injuries, essential safety measures, and the significance of timely and appropriate first aid, sensitizing participants to simple yet effective steps that can reduce the severity of injuries and save lives. As part of the Wear Red Day initiative, the program also emphasized heart disease prevention by highlighting risk factors, healthy lifestyle choices, balanced nutrition, regular physical activity, and the importance of early detection. The symbolic use of red further reinforced the message of heart health and preventive care.

The program was led by Ms. Anamika Roy, Assistant Professor; Ms. Nibedita Ghosh, Assistant Professor; and Mr. Prasanta Saikia, Clinical Instructor, from the Faculty of Paramedical Sciences, with enthusiastic participation from its students. 

Overall, the initiative successfully fulfilled its outreach objectives by fostering community awareness, encouraging preventive health practices, and strengthening the institution’s engagement with society.
