Assam down town University marked the International Day of Older Persons by organising an outreach program at Aamaar Ghar, Patharquary, Guwahati, under the theme “The Age of Longevity: Rethinking Systems for Longer Lives.”

Organised by the Outreach and Extension Activities Committee in collaboration with the Faculty of Nursing, the programme featured interactive health education sessions on personal hygiene, psychosocial stress management and fall prevention, along with blood pressure assessments and recreational activities for the elderly residents.

The programme concluded with tokens of love and appreciation, reinforcing the importance of care, dignity and respect for older persons. Through this initiative, AdtU continues to promote healthy ageing, community engagement and the well-being of the elderly.
