Assam down town University, through the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in association with the Directorate of Innovation, Startup & Acceleration (DISA), organised an online session on “Navigating the Legal and Ethical Landscape of Start-ups”, coordinated by Dr. Satarupa Deka. 

The session featured Dr. Soumya Aggarwal, Assistant Professor and Innovation Ambassador, IILM University, Greater Noida, as the resource person and was attended by 37 students and 1 faculty member. The session focused on essential legal and ethical considerations for establishing and managing start-ups, covering business registration, intellectual property rights, contracts, regulatory compliance, data privacy, consumer protection and responsible business practices, while also emphasising ethical decision-making, transparency, accountability, stakeholder welfare and social responsibility. 

Through an engaging session followed by an interactive Q&A, participants gained insights into legal compliance, intellectual property protection, the importance of contracts, ethical decision-making and responsible entrepreneurship, helping them understand how innovative ideas can be developed into responsible, sustainable and legally compliant ventures.
