



The Om Yoga & Meditation Club of Assam down town University actively participated in the International Youth Conference 2026, organized by Heartfulness, held at Kanha Shanti Vanam, Hyderabad. Students and faculty members took part in various group activities and attended a series of inspiring and thought-provoking lectures delivered by eminent personalities, including Dr Somanath Sreedhara Panicker, Former Chairperson of ISRO - Indian Space Research Organization, and Ms. Janhvi Singh, Spiritual Influencer and National Creator Award winner.
Throughout the conference, participants followed a disciplined daily routine, beginning each day at 6:30 a.m., followed by four hours of guided meditation sessions, conducted both in the morning and evening. These sessions were led by Shri Kamalesh D. Patel (Daaji), President of the Heartfulness Institute. The participants were encouraged to spend quality time in nature and to deepen their meditation practices as part of holistic well-being.
During the sessions, Daaji introduced the participants to the principles of Sahaj Marg (The Natural Path), explaining how to pursue personal and professional goals positively by maintaining a balanced inner environment through a harmonious blend of spirituality and scientific understanding. Participants were also trained to experience divine energy within themselves, aimed at enhancing brain function, emotional balance, immune response, and an increased sense of purpose and meaning in life.
The proposal and message from the Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) N. C. Talukdar was submitted to the Heartfulness headquarters through the Om Yoga & Meditation Club, highlighting the club’s sustained efforts over the past five years to promote Heartfulness meditation among students and faculty members of AdtU, were highly appreciated by the Heartfulness team. The objectives of the initiative were reviewed, verified, and formally agreed upon, with assurance extended for support in establishing a dedicated meditation centre for all abhyasis in the near future.
