Assam down town University hosted the Northeast Regional IndiaSkills Competition 2026, organised by the Tourism & Hospitality Skill Council Council (THSC), marking a significant milestone in hospitality skill development and youth empowerment in the region. Held from 19th to 21st January 2026, the competition brought together talented students and young professionals from across the Northeast to showcase excellence in key hospitality trades including cooking, bakery, patisserie & confectionery, hotel reception, and restaurant service. With industry-aligned practical challenges such as wine tasting, pastry and bread making, three-course continental menu preparation, guest situation handling, and front office checkout procedures, the event offered a real-world platform to assess technical expertise, professionalism, and service standards. Hosted at the state-of-the-art Hospitality Lab of the Discipline of Hospitality and Tourism Management, AdtU, the event reinforced the university’s commitment to nurturing industry-ready professionals and strengthening the hospitality ecosystem of the Northeast.
