




The opening day of NEXUS 1.0 – MBA Orientation Programme at the down town School of Business, Assam down town University, marked the beginning of an exciting chapter for our newest MBA cohort.
The programme commenced with the ceremonial lamp lighting, symbolizing the start of a transformative academic journey, followed by a warm welcome from Prof. Dr. Seema Sharma, Dean, Faculty of Commerce & Management, who encouraged students to embrace lifelong learning, uphold professional values, and make the most of every opportunity that lies ahead.
The orientation introduced students to Assam down town University’s vision, mission, values, legacy, academic leadership, and various faculties. Ms. Pampi Das, Associate Dean (Academics), provided an overview of the MBA programme, covering its curriculum, academic framework, and career opportunities. Faculty members Dr. Dr. Samannoy Baruah, Dr. Dr. Pramod Kumar, Mr. Gautom Bhattacharya, Dr. Dr.Dimpy Pathak Das and Dr. Dr. Bishal Bhuyan motivated students to pursue academic excellence, leadership and professional growth. The programme concluded with a guided campus tour led by Dr. Jyoti Prasad Kalita and Mr. Rituparna Bhuyan.
Throughout the day, students were introduced to the University's vision, legacy, academic ecosystem and the structure of the MBA programme. Interactive sessions with faculty members offered valuable insights into the curriculum, learning opportunities, and the expectations of management education, while inspiring students to think critically, lead with purpose, and strive for excellence.
The day concluded with a guided campus tour, allowing students to explore the vibrant university environment, interact with peers and faculty, and take their very first steps towards becoming a part of the dtSB family.
