Assam down town University’s Food, Nutrition & Dietetics programme under the Faculty of Science celebrated National Nutrition Month 2025 by transforming a practical class led by Assistant Professor Dr. Yashmin Nongrum into an inspiring showcase of knowledge, creativity, and awareness.
Students embraced the theme “Eat Right for a Better Life” through interactive 3D models, vibrant displays of the five essential food groups, and innovative recipes that reflected food as not just fuel, but a blend of culture, science, and health.
The highlight of the session was a beautifully curated Assamese Thali, complemented by traditional platters from Tripura and Bihar, reminding us that indigenous, home-cooked meals are naturally balanced, wholesome, and rooted in tradition. Students also designed a thoughtful weight-loss platter and crafted high-fiber desserts such as chia seed pudding and oats brownie, showing that even indulgence can be nourishing and heart-friendly.
The celebration concluded with a powerful message, eat right, embrace tradition, and understand portions. Every small, mindful choice today builds the foundation for a healthier tomorrow, making this year’s theme truly come alive: “Eat Right for a Better Life.”
