Kolkata Chapter hosts its first alumni meet, uniting former students in a heartfelt celebration of memories, networking, and future collaboration

Assam down town University is proud to share the success of the 1st Alumni Meet of the Kolkata Chapter, organized by the AdtU Alumni Association on 29th June 2025.

With the aim of reconnecting former students in Kolkata and strengthening their bond with their alma mater, the event was held at Fairfield by Marriott, New Town, and witnessed an enthusiastic turnout of alumni from across the city.

The meet began with a warm and heartfelt welcome address by Dr. Samannoy Baruah, Director of Alumni Affairs and President of the AdtU Alumni Association. Emphasizing the value of lifelong alumni relationships, Dr. Baruah’s words set a nostalgic tone, reminding everyone of their shared journey at AdtU.

Also present at the event was Dr. Nayan Talukdar, M Sc. Ph.D., Associate Director of Alumni Affairs, who highlighted the depth of knowledge and insight alumni contribute to the university’s growth. Dr. Rimjhim Baruah Borah, Director (i/c), Directorate of Career Advancement, engaged attendees on the importance of professional networking and career evolution in a rapidly changing job landscape. Ms. Varsha Patwari, Assistant General Manager, Career Advancement, also joined the meet and interacted with alumni, further strengthening the university’s support for its graduates.

The open forum was a heartfelt segment where alumni fondly recalled memories of classrooms, hostels, cultural festivals, and friendships that stood the test of time. Many participants offered constructive feedback and suggestions to enrich academic and campus life for current students, reflecting their commitment to giving back to their alma mater.

This remarkable occasion was more than a reunion, it was the beginning of a strengthened alumni network in Kolkata, committed to staying connected, giving back, and carrying forward the legacy of Assam down town University.
