Assam down town University marked International Youth Day with an engaging Debate Competition organised by the Erudite Literary Club.
Centered around the thought-provoking topic, “Modern Formal Education System is Failing to Prepare Youth for the Realities of the 21st Century,” the debate encouraged students to look beyond conventional perspectives and critically examine whether today’s education system is truly preparing young people for a rapidly changing world.
With arguments exploring employability, practical skills, digital literacy, creativity, entrepreneurship, adaptability, and critical thinking, participants presented compelling viewpoints both for and against the motion.
The enthusiastic participation and diverse perspectives made the event an intellectually stimulating experience, while also strengthening students’ confidence, communication, logical reasoning, and public speaking skills. A total prize pool of Rs. 6,000 was awarded to recognise and encourage outstanding performances.
Through platforms like these, AdtU continues to nurture curious minds, confident voices, and young thinkers ready to engage with the realities of tomorrow.
