






Assam down town University celebrated International Nurses Day, under the theme “Our Nurses. Our Future. Empowered Nurses Save Lives.” organized by the Faculty of Nursing.
The event commenced with the unveiling of the theme by Prof (Dr)Manashi Sengupta, Dean, Faculty of Nursing, AdtU, who highlighted the significant role of empowered nurses in strengthening healthcare systems and saving lives.
The program was graced by the presence of Dr. N.C. Talukdar, Vice Chancellor, and Dr. Mahendra Kumar Modi, Executive Dean, Assam down town University, who delivered inspiring addresses emphasizing the importance of the nursing profession, leadership, commitment, and the need to empower nurses for a healthier future.
A special moment of recognition during the celebration was the award presentation to two nursing students, Mr. Monurit Zaman Mollah and Ms. Gitanjali Paul from 3rd Semester B.Sc Nursing, for their remarkable life-saving intervention at Assam Medical College, Dibrugarh. Their courageous and commendable act reflected the true spirit, responsibility, and humanity of the nursing profession.
The celebration was further enriched with meaningful cultural performances presented by the students, including songs and dances that expressed gratitude and respect towards nurses.
The program concluded on a positive note with appreciation for the noble service rendered by nurses and encouragement to continue serving humanity with dedication, compassion, and professionalism.
