







Assam down town University marked a proud milestone with the Student Innovation Grant Cheque Distribution Ceremony, reinforcing its commitment to innovation and entrepreneurship. This program is organised by the the Institution’s Innovation Council in collaboration with the Directorate of Innovation, Startup & Acceleration (DISA)
The program began with a welcome address by Prof. (Dr.) Prof. Sunandan Baruah, Director, DISA. A total of 18 student teams received grants ranging from Rs.8,530 to Rs.25,000 for projects spanning mental health wearable tech, renewable energy, sustainable materials, eco-friendly innovations, educational tools, drone technology, and more recognising their creativity and dedication.
Madhurjya Prakash Baruah, Scientist ‘F’ at Software Technology Parks of India (STPI), encouraged students to align innovations with national missions and focus on scalability and industry collaboration. Kankan Jyoti Kharghoria, Project Manager at Assam Startup, highlighted entrepreneurship opportunities and support systems available for budding startups.
The ceremony concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Dr. Dr. Yashmin Nongrum, celebrating a successful event that inspired young innovators to transform ideas into impactful, real-world solutions.
