IndiaSkills Northeast Regional Competition 2026 Showcases Excellence in Tourism and Hospitality Skills

Assam down town University hosted the IndiaSkills Northeast Regional Competition 2026, organized by the Tourism & Hospitality Skill Council (THSC), at the Hospitality Lab, Discipline of Hospitality and Tourism Management, Faculty of Commerce and Management.

This prestigious competition, a flagship initiative of IndiaSkills, identifies and nurtures young talent in vocational skills. The event showcased excellence in tourism and hospitality trades, including Cooking, Bakery, Patisserie & Confectionery, Hotel Reception, and Restaurant Service.

Participants from across the northeastern states demonstrated their professional skills, creativity, and industry readiness through rigorous practical and technical challenges. Highlights included check-in and check-out simulations, table laying, napkin folding, salad and soup service, fruit and Gato carving, flambé, wine decanting, full dinner service, as well as bakery and confectionery tasks.

The event celebrated skill, precision, and innovation, reinforcing Assam down town University’s commitment to nurturing the next generation of hospitality professionals.
