Impactful workshop on Electro-Magnetic Radiation and Sanchar Sathi raises digital safety awareness among students through expert insights from DoT Assam LSA

Assam down town University organized an impactful Electro-Magnetic Radiation and Sanchar Sathi: Citizen-Centric Awareness Workshop, conducted by the Faculty of Computer Technology (FoCT) in collaboration with the Assam Licensed Service Area (LSA), Department of Telecommunications (DoT), Ministry of Communications, Government of India. 

The session was led by Shri Saurav Borgohain, who emphasized the crucial role of the Sanchar Sathi application in enhancing digital safety. He explained how citizens can track the number of SIM cards issued in their name, report lost or stolen mobile phones, and understand how DoT efficiently traces such devices. He further shared preventive measures against mobile-based fraud, guiding students on how to remain cautious of fraudulent calls and messages as part of the Digital India initiative.

The program was graced by Shri Naveen Kumar, Director, DoT Assam LSA, along with Dr. Aniruddha Deka, Dean, FoCT and Dr. Tasher Ali Sheikh, Assistant Professor and Sanchar Mitra Coordinator, AdtU, whose presence inspired and motivated the participants. More than 100 students from FoCT attended the workshop, gaining valuable awareness on digital safety, responsible telecom practices and the importance of government-driven initiatives designed to safeguard citizens in today’s rapidly evolving digital ecosystem.
