A proud and defining moment unfolded in Guwahati as the Tech & Digital Factory Centre was inaugurated by the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Assam, Himanta Biswa Sarma. The launch marks a significant milestone in Assam’s journey toward becoming a technology and innovation powerhouse in the Northeast.

Born from the vision of Assam down town University and strengthened through collaboration with HDFC Bank under Advantage Assam 2.0, this initiative is more than infrastructure it is transformation in action.

Inside a state-of-the-art 10,000 sq. ft. corporate workspace in Guwahati, 163 carefully selected interns from seven colleges across Assam are actively working in live Agile environments, developing real-world digital products. This is not a simulation it’s hands-on industry experience.
Among the participating institutions, Assam down town University stood out as a top performer, with hashtag#57students successfully advancing in their internship journey.

One powerful moment captured the essence of this achievement: a team of 11 young innovators presenting an *Insurance Recommendation Engine* built on a microservices architecture using Flutter, Spring Boot, and AWS. The clarity of their technical articulation, the confidence in their deployment strategy, and the robustness of their solution reflected something extraordinary.

The Tech & Digital Factory Centre represents a bold shift from theoretical education to hands-on innovation. It bridges the gap between academia and industry, transforming the Internship-to-Placement pathway into a live, working ecosystem. Students are no longer preparing for the corporate world they are already part of it.

With this inauguration, Assam strengthens its position as an emerging technology hub, often envisioned as the “Silicon Valley of the Northeast.” More importantly, it sends a powerful message: the youth of Assam are ready skilled, confident, and building the future today.
