Assam down town university’s Programme of Food Nutrition and Dietetics under the Faculty of Science, in collaboration with the Outreach and Extension Committee, successfully organized a Health Camp on Nutritional Assessment and Diet Counseling at Tintukura L.P. School, Tintukura village.

The program was coordinated by Dr. Jasmin Islam and Dr. Daisy Sharma with the active participation of MSc 2nd semester and BSc 4th semester students of the programme.

The health camp aimed to spread awareness about the importance of proper nutrition, healthy lifestyle practices, and regular health monitoring among school children and community members. More than 60 participants attended the camp and benefited from the initiative.

During the program, anthropometric assessments including height, weight, and Body Mass Index (BMI) measurements were conducted to evaluate the nutritional status of the participants. Personalized diet counseling sessions were also organized, where participants received guidance on balanced diets, healthy eating habits, and lifestyle modifications according to their individual needs.

The activity not only contributed to community health awareness and nutrition education but also provided valuable practical exposure to the students, helping them gain hands-on experience in nutritional assessment and diet counseling practices.
