






Assam down town University hosted the Future Stars Inter-School & Inter-Academy Futsal Championship 2026, organised by Harvest Sports Club in collaboration with the Assam Football Association and powered by AdtU, aimed to nurture grassroots football by providing young players with a platform to compete, gain match experience and develop teamwork, discipline and sportsmanship.
The event featured enthusiastic participation across U-11, U-13 and U-17 categories. Maria’s Public School, Guwahati United FC, and East Point Montessori School emerged as champions in the respective categories, while several young players were recognised with individual awards including Player of the Tournament, Best Defender, Best Goalkeeper and Golden Boot.
The championship was inaugurated by Prof. (Dr.) N.C. Talukdar, Vice Chancellor, AdtU, who encouraged young athletes to pursue sports wholeheartedly while emphasising the importance of nutrition and a healthy lifestyle. The closing ceremony was graced by Prof Pranveer Singh PhD-IITK, Pro Vice Chancellor, AdtU, and Shri Ranjajit Mahanta, Head of Administration, Assam Football Association, along with other university dignitaries.
The championship reinforced AdtU’s commitment to supporting grassroots sports and nurturing the next generation of sporting talent in Assam.
