Assam down town University organised an insightful session on “From Idea to Business Model: Mastering the Business Model Canvas”, under the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, with Dr. Satarupa Deka as the Event Coordinator.

The session was led by Mr. Pranjal Kumar Sarmah, I/C Associate Director, Entrepreneurship and Incubation, Directorate of Innovation, Startup & Acceleration (DISA), Assam down town University. The session focused on transforming ideas into viable business opportunities through the nine building blocks of the Business Model Canvas, including customer segments, value propositions, channels, key resources, activities, partnerships, revenue streams and cost structures. Through practical and experiential learning, participants explored innovation and problem-solving, entrepreneurial mindset development, business sustainability, idea validation and refinement, along with an activity-driven approach to moving “from idea to execution.” 

The program also featured an interactive Q&A session, followed by a hands-on Business Model Canvas activity, enabling students to apply the concepts to their own entrepreneurial ideas. 

The initiative reflects the University’s continued efforts through DISA, down town Venture Labs and related entrepreneurship initiatives to foster innovation, entrepreneurship, mentorship and startup development among students.
