Students of the Faculty of Computer Technology (FoCT), Assam down town University, comprising B.Tech and BCA programmes, made a commendable representation at the First North East AI Conclave 2026, held at the NEDFi Convention Centre.

Demonstrating innovation and technical competence, the FoCT student team actively participated in the conclave and presented a well-researched and forward-looking idea titled “An Operational Visibility and Decision Support System for MSME Manufacturing,” with a focused application in the handloom and textile sector. The presentation reflected the students’ ability to apply emerging AI concepts to address real-world challenges faced by MSMEs.

The conclave was inaugurated in the august presence of the Chief Guest, Mr. Biswajit Daimari, Hon’ble Speaker of the Assam Legislative Assembly, along with several distinguished dignitaries, including Prof. (Dr.) S. K. Sinha, Vice-Chancellor, Pragjyotishpur University; Shri Lemli Loyi, Executive Director, NEDFi; Prof. (Dr.) S. M. Hazarika, IIT Guwahati; Prof. (Dr.) Sukumar Baishya, NERIST, Itanagar; and Dr. Nayan Basumatary, Founder, Xantra AI.

The students were accompanied and academically guided by Dr. Prasenjit Kumar Das, Faculty Member, FoCT, whose mentorship contributed to the successful presentation of the project.
