Assam down town University, through its Faculty of Nursing, successfully organized an “Inter-Nursing Institute Quiz Competition and Panel Discussion” on the occasion of International Nurses Day 2026 based on the theme, “Our Nurse. Our Future. Empowered Nurses Save Lives.” 

The program was conducted to celebrate the dedication, compassion, and contribution of future healthcare professionals, with enthusiastic participation from nursing students across Assam. A total of 13 nursing institutes from in and around Guwahati participated in the event, bringing together 63 participants for a day of learning, interaction, and healthy competition.

The event commenced with a warm welcome address by Ms. Pinky Chetia, SNA Advisor, SNA Unit, Faculty of Nursing, Assam down town University, followed by the inauguration ceremony. The quiz competition aimed to enhance knowledge, critical thinking, and professional awareness among nursing students through engaging rounds focused on nursing science, healthcare, current affairs, and medical advancements. The competition encouraged teamwork, confidence, and academic excellence among participants.

A panel discussion on the theme “Empowering Nurses; Strengthening Training, Support System and Mental Well-being” was also organized, where esteemed panellists shared valuable insights on empowering nurses through quality training, stronger support systems, and mental well-being initiatives. 

The event reflected the continued commitment of the Faculty of Nursing, Assam down town University towards promoting professional growth, collaboration, and excellence in nursing education.
