Assam down town University, through its Faculty of Nursing, successfully organised a series of INC-mandated workshops in collaboration with ebekMed, aimed at strengthening the clinical knowledge and practical competencies of B.Sc. Nursing students.
The workshops covered essential modules including Health Assessment for II Semester students and Child Health Nursing for V Semester students, focusing on key areas such as Essential Newborn Care (ENC), Facility-Based Newborn Care (FBNC), and Paediatric Life Support (PLS). Led by experienced clinical skill educators like Khem Chand, Tarannum Khan, Praveen P, and Anya Zereen Bensy B, the sessions combined detailed demonstrations with hands-on training, simulations, and skill-based learning.
Students actively participated in activities such as history taking, physical examinations, neonatal resuscitation, airway management, and CPR using mannequins and skill stations. The workshops effectively bridged the gap between theoretical knowledge and clinical practice, enhancing critical thinking, decision-making abilities, and confidence among the students.
Overall, the initiative proved to be highly impactful, contributing significantly to the professional development of future nurses and reinforcing the importance of practical, skill-oriented learning in delivering quality healthcare.
