




Assam down town University’s NSS Unit, in collaboration with the Faculty of Allied and Healthcare Sciences and the Regional Institute of Ophthalmology, Gauhati Medical College & Hospital (GMCH), organised an Eye Donation Awareness Program.
The session was led by Dr. Debasis Bora, NSS Programme Coordinator, and Dr. Dr. Moitrayee Devi (Ph.D), NSS Programme Officer. Experts from the Regional Institute of Ophthalmology, GMCH, Dr Rita Deka, Professor; Dr. Pankaj Baruah, Associate Professor; Dr. Leena Choudhury, Assistant Professor; and Mr. Sankar Raj Bharali from the Eye Bank, GMCH shared valuable insights on eye donation and its impact.
The program encouraged students and participants to understand how a simple decision to donate eyes can help restore the gift of sight to someone in need.
A meaningful session to spread awareness, encourage informed choices, and inspire more people to support the cause of eye donation.
