Assam down town University hosted the E-Cell Induction Program and AdtU Student Innovation Grant Award Ceremony, organised by the Directorate of Innovation, Startup & Acceleration (DISA), marking another step towards strengthening the university’s culture of innovation, entrepreneurship and startup development.

The program was graced by Dr. Nayanjyoti Goswami, PhD, Managing Director, Assam Innovation and Startup Foundation (AISF) and Chief Executive Officer, IndiaAI Centre of Excellence (AI-CoE), Assam, as the Chief Guest, and Mr. Kankan Jyoti Kharghoria, Senior Manager, Incubation, Assam Startup, as the Guest of Honour. The event was also attended by Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) N.C. Talukdar, Pro Vice Chancellor Prof Pranveer Singh PhD-IITK Singh, Prof. Bandana Dutta, Dean of Studies, along with Deans of various Faculties of Studies, faculty members and other university stakeholders.

A key highlight of the program was the formal induction of 31 members of the newly constituted Entrepreneurship Cell (E-Cell), the student wing of DISA. The E-Cell will provide students with opportunities to actively participate in innovation, ideation, entrepreneurship and startup-related activities, further strengthening student engagement within AdtU’s innovation ecosystem.

The ceremony also featured the AdtU Student Innovation Grant Award Ceremony – 6th Call, through which student innovators receive financial support of up to Rs.25,000 per student group to pursue innovative research, develop prototypes and create products with potential for Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) and startup development. Under the 6th Call, 21 student groups were selected, receiving a cumulative grant of Rs.5.23 lakh.

The program brought together student innovators, faculty members and key stakeholders to celebrate new ideas, encourage entrepreneurial thinking and recognise promising student-led innovations, reaffirming Assam down town University’s commitment to nurturing a vibrant and future-ready innovation, entrepreneurship and startup ecosystem.
