Assam down town University (AdtU) takes immense pride in the remarkable international representation by Dr. Manash Pratim Pathak, PhD, Associate Professor and Mr. Pervej Alom B., ICMR-Project Research Scientist-I the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Science at the 20th World Congress of Basic and Clinical Pharmacology (WCP2026), held in Melbourne, Australia.

Dr. Pathak presented his research on the pharmacological potential of Kaji Nemu (Assam's state fruit) essential oil in managing Polyendocrine Metabolic Ovarian Syndrome (PMOS), formerly known as PCOS, using obese rodent models. In recognition of his expertise, he was also invited to co-chair a scientific session on Drug Discovery (Natural Products)

Mr. Barbhuiya presented his doctoral research conducted at the Centre for Research on Ethnomedicine (CREM), contributing to the global discourse on ethnopharmacology and evidence-based medicinal research.

A significant highlight of their participation was the recognition they received through the Early and Mid-Career Researchers (EMCR) Travel Grant, awarded by the International Union of Basic and Clinical Pharmacology (IUPHAR), ASCEPT and the WCP2026 Organising Committee. 

Beyond the scientific sessions, both delegates participated in a roundtable discussion with Indian researchers under the Indian Pharmacological Society (IPS) and visited Monash University and the University of Melbourne, fostering international academic dialogue and exploring future research collaborations.
