Assam down town University is pleased to share that Dr. Dr. Anup Basistha, Director – Centre for Internal Quality Assurance (CIQA), AdtU, was invited as a Panel Expert at the World Patient Safety Day programme organised by All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Guwahati (AIIMS Guwahati).

Dr. Basistha participated in the panel session titled “Quality & Accreditation: Building a Safer Health System – Quality, Accreditation, Digital Innovation & Prevention,” where he shared valuable insights into simulation-based education and its role in strengthening patient safety.

He highlighted the need for effective integration of simulation-based learning into healthcare education and practice, along with the importance of regulatory responsibility, competency-based assessment and robust institutional mechanisms. These approaches play a vital role in ensuring that patient-safety principles developed through classroom learning and simulation are effectively translated into safe practices at the bedside.
