The Department of Food Nutrition and Dietetics organized an insightful field visit to IIT Biotech Park for the Master’s 2nd Semester students.
The visit provided students with valuable practical exposure to various aspects of biotechnology, food processing, aquaculture, and entrepreneurship. From exploring advanced research instruments in the Instrumentation Lab to learning about mushroom cultivation initiatives for rural women in the Micropropagation Lab, every session was highly informative and inspiring.
Students also interacted with entrepreneur-supported companies, gained knowledge about aquaculture practices at the Blue House, and observed modern food processing and packaging techniques at the food processing unit.
This enriching experience helped bridge the gap between academic learning and real-world applications, encouraging students to explore future opportunities in research, innovation, sustainable development, and community empowerment.
