Debate Competition at Annual Techno Fest Showcases Critical Thinking; Darshil Shrabanya Emerges Winner

Assam down town University, as part of its annual techno fest ECCLESIA 3.0, successfully organized a Debate Competition, with the objective of fostering critical thinking, persuasive communication, and confidence among students. 

The event saw active participation from 40 students representing various departments, with each team comprising two speakers, one speaking for the motion and the other against it. Participants were evaluated by the judging panel on clarity of argument, relevance, presentation skills, evidence-based reasoning, and rebuttal strength. The competition featured insightful exchanges and strong audience engagement, creating a vibrant environment for intellectual discourse. After a highly compelling and thought-provoking session, Darshil Shrabanya secured the winner’s position, while Avispa Kalita was declared runner-up and Sumit Kumar Saha received the second runner-up prize. Certificates and prizes were awarded to acknowledge their achievements. 

Overall, the Debate Competition successfully promoted analytical thinking, respectful dialogue, and meaningful conversations on contemporary socio-technological issues.
