Date- 10th Apr 2025

Assam down town University continued its vibrant celebration of the arts on Day 3 of the workshop series, with a deeply engaging session on Vocal Music titled “Differentiate Between Similar Sounding Ragas.”

The session offered participants a nuanced understanding of classical music through demonstrations of Raga Bhairav, Ramkali, and Kalingara, with a focus on identifying their subtle distinctions. The highlight of the session was an in-depth exploration of Raga Kalingara, featuring a chota khayal and simple taans, enabling participants to truly immerse themselves in its melodic depth.

In parallel, two dynamic sessions added to the creative atmosphere, Acting, where participants explored improvisation, imitation, and character observation; and Sattriya, featuring hands-on practice of Ram Dani Naach, Mati Akhora, and basic traditional movements. Together, these sessions enriched the participants' appreciation of performance arts and offered a well-rounded learning experience.
