Assam down town University successfully organized the “Corporate Meetup – Kolkata Chapter” on 29th June 2025 at Fairfield By Marriott, Kolkata, marking a significant step in strengthening industry-academia collaboration.

The event witnessed the participation of over 48 eminent corporate professionals from Kolkata and nearby regions, all coming together to explore new avenues for meaningful engagement with the academic world. Coordinated under the leadership of Dr. Rimjhim Baruah Borah, Director (i/c), and supported by Mr. KIRANJEET BARMAN (Assistant Manager), Mr. Abhinov Rajkhowa (Assistant Manager), and Ms. Varsha Patwari (AGM) from the Directorate of Career Advancement, the event was aimed at bridging the gap between industry expectations and academic outcomes. 

Dr. Rimjhim Baruah Borah opened the session with an insightful presentation introducing Assam down town University, highlighting its vision, academic excellence, and commitment to producing industry-ready graduates. This was followed by interactive sessions where the invited corporate leaders shared valuable insights on emerging trends, challenges, and opportunities within their respective industries. These discussions also offered constructive suggestions for aligning academic programmes with real-world requirements. 

As a gesture of gratitude, the university honored all attending guests with Assamese fulam gamusas and mementos. The event concluded with a networking lunch, providing a relaxed setting for deeper conversations and potential collaborations aimed at enhancing student placements, internships, and future skill development initiatives.
