Assam down town University, through the Directorate of Career Advancement, organised a Corporate Guest Lecture on “Entrepreneurship and Business Skills for Pharmacists”. 

The program was organised and coordinated by Ms. Aseka Sultana, Assistant Manager, and Ms. Anusmita Kalita, Senior Placement Executive, under the guidance of Dr. Rimjhim Baruah, Director-In-Charge, Directorate of Career Advancement. 

The session featured Mr. Mominur Islam, Managing Director, Potent Pharma Pvt. Ltd., who shared valuable industry experience and entrepreneurial insights with the students. He highlighted the evolving role of pharmacists beyond conventional career pathways and discussed opportunities in pharmaceutical business, healthcare enterprises, distribution, marketing, sales and other emerging areas. The interaction focused on developing entrepreneurial thinking, business acumen, leadership, communication, decision-making, problem-solving and professional networking skills. 

Drawing from his professional experience, Mr. Islam also emphasised the importance of innovation, adaptability, calculated risk-taking, continuous learning and effective interpersonal skills in building a successful entrepreneurial venture.

The session provided valuable insights into industry expectations, professional competencies and the challenges and opportunities within the evolving pharmaceutical business landscape, while strengthening industry-academia interaction, entrepreneurial awareness, professional development and career readiness among the students of Assam down town University.
