Assam down town University through its Centre for Language Proficiency and Professional Development (CLPPD) successfully organized the “Spelling Bee” competition with the aim of enhancing vocabulary, pronunciation, and language accuracy among students.

The event featured three engaging rounds, qualifying, challenge, and performance, creating a fun-filled and competitive atmosphere. A total of 30 students participated along with a few faculty members, making 42 participants overall. The program commenced with a welcome address by the coordinator, followed by the felicitation of the resource person, Udayan Duarah, by the Honourable Pro-Vice Chancellor, Prof Pranveer Singh PhD-IITK. The session, hosted by a student, was both insightful and interactive, and concluded with a vote of thanks. 

The prize distribution ceremony, words of appreciation, and the lively spirit of the participants made the event truly enjoyable, while also highlighting the importance of correct spelling and pronunciation in strengthening communication skills across all fields.
