




The B.Tech 3rd Semester students of the Mechanical Engineering programme, Faculty of Engineering, Assam down town University, undertook a one-day industrial visit to Numaligarh Refinery Limited (NRL), Assam.
Organized in collaboration with the Guwahati Management Association (GMA), the visit served as an important academic–industry interface aimed at enhancing students’ practical understanding of refinery operations.
During the program, students toured key refinery units, observed mechanical systems in operation, and interacted with industry professionals who shared valuable insights into crude oil processing, energy management, maintenance practices, and industrial safety protocols. The visit also included a classroom session conducted by NRL experts, offering an overview of the refinery’s technological developments, operational efficiency measures, and commitment to sustainable practices.
This experiential learning initiative helped students relate theoretical concepts to real-world applications, strengthening their technical knowledge and industry readiness.
