AdtU Marks 17th Foundation Day with Celebration of Excellence, Achievement and Cultural Diversity

Assam down town University celebrated its 17th Foundation Day, bringing together university leadership, faculty, staff, students and distinguished guests to commemorate 17 years of growth, learning, achievement and institutional progress.

The celebration opened with the hoisting of the University flag by Prof. Bandana Dutta, Hon’ble Dean of Studies, followed by the University Anthem, a Borgeet presentation and cultural performances by students.

A significant highlight of the Foundation Day was the recognition of excellence and contribution across the AdtU community, with awards honouring dedicated supporting staff, special contributions by individuals and teams, excellence in teaching and execution, emerging academic talent. 

The formal program featured the release of Gyanankur, the annual magazine of Assam down town University, bringing together the creative writing, poetry and artistic expressions of students, faculty and staff.

Adding to the spirit of the occasion, the cultural programme celebrated the diversity of the University, featuring a traditional dance by students from Bhutan, followed by a classical fusion performance by the AdtU Dance Club blending elements of Sattriya, Bharatanatyam and Kathak, and a folk dance celebrating Assam's rich and diverse cultural traditions.

As Assam down town University enters its 18th year, the 17th Foundation Day was a celebration of how far the institution has come and, most importantly, the people who have shaped its journey.
