The Erudite Literary Club, Assam down town University, observed Anti-Ragging Week on 18th August 2026 by organising a Debate Competition and an Essay Writing Competition to sensitise students about the harmful consequences of ragging and the importance of fostering a safe, respectful and inclusive campus environment. The program was conducted under the supervision of Dr. Rizwan Ahmed and Dr. Tridisha Bayan.

The Debate Competition centred around the thought-provoking topic, “Strict Institutional Discipline and Administrative Punishment Alone Can Eradicate Campus Ragging,” encouraging students to critically discuss institutional regulations, disciplinary measures, student responsibility and the role of preventive awareness in creating a ragging-free campus. The Essay Writing Competition, themed “Ragging in the Digital World: From Campus Bullying to Cyber-Harassment,” gave students an opportunity to explore the growing impact of cyberbullying, online humiliation, social-media harassment and other forms of technology-mediated abuse.
