Assam down town University Alumni Association, in collaboration with the Faculty of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation, organized an interactive session on March 21, 2025.
The event began with hosts Mr. Sonu Kumar, Apprentice at the Directorate of Alumni Affairs, AdtU, and Ms. Sonia Prasad, a student from the Faculty of Paramedical Sciences, who warmly introduced the guest of honor, Anupam Kr Deka.
An alumnus of the Faculty of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation (Batch 2012-16), he is now a manual therapy specialist and the Founder of Movement Solutions, Guwahati. During the session, Anupam Kumar Deka shared insights from his career journey since graduating from AdtU, captivating the audience with his experiences. Dr. Samannoy Baruah, Director of the Directorate of Alumni Affairs, AdtU and Abhijit Kalita, Associate Dean, Faculty of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation, felicitated Anupam Kumar Deka and addressed the students with welcome speeches, expressing gratitude for his presence. They emphasized the increasing demand for skilled professionals in the healthcare sector and the evolving roles of therapy specialists due to advancements in medical technologies and client care systems.
The session took place in the presence of Ms. Gouri Acharjee, Alumni Coordinator, along with Dr Shalaka Baidya (PT), Assistant Professor, and Dr Simi Hazarika (PT), Assistant Professor.
The event concluded with an interactive Q&A session where students sought guidance on career development and industry dynamics. The workshop proved to be an enriching experience, inspiring students to explore innovative career paths in physiotherapy and rehabilitation.
