Date- 22nd May 2025

Assam down town University successfully conducted a Workshop on International Patient Safety on 20th May, 2025, organized by the Medical Surgical Nursing Department, Faculty of Nursing, in collaboration with ANEI.
The event commenced with Ms. Embhah Dkhar, who introduced the day’s theme, “International Patient Safety Goals.”

The workshop featured an insightful session by Prof (Dr)Manashi Sengupta, Dean, Faculty of Nursing, who elaborated on the six critical patient safety goals: (i) correct patient identification, (ii) effective communication, (iii) safe administration of high-alert medications, (iv) verification of correct site, procedure, and patient during surgery, (v) prevention of healthcare-associated infections, and (vi) reduction of patient harm from falls.

Engaging activities such as role plays were conducted to reinforce these goals, allowing students to demonstrate their understanding through active participation. The enthusiasm and involvement of the students, coupled with the valuable guidance of the faculty members, contributed immensely to the event’s success, leaving a lasting educational impact.
