Assam down town University, in collaboration with Nature's Orbit Solutions Pvt. Ltd. , organized the event "Sustainable Periods for Empowered Women" on March 8, 2025, to commemorate International Women’s Day. 

The event focused on raising awareness about menstrual hygiene and promoting the use of biodegradable sanitary pads as a step toward environmental sustainability and personal well-being. The program featured an insightful session by Mrs. Bonani Roychoudhury (WASH Expert), who educated participants on sustainable menstrual practices and the importance of eco-friendly products. A distribution drive provided free biodegradable sanitary pads to encourage sustainable period care, while an interactive Q&A session helped dispel myths and foster open conversations about menstrual health. 

The event led to increased awareness of menstrual hygiene, practical access to sustainable products, and empowered discussions that broke taboos surrounding menstruation. Through this initiative, Assam down town University reaffirmed its dedication to social responsibility and sustainability, leaving a lasting impact on participants and the wider community.
