Assam down town University successfully hosted The International Conference on Semiconductor Materials and Manufacturing Technology (ICSMMT) 2024 from December 13-14, under the leadership of Prof. (Dr.) T V V L N Rao, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, AdtU.
The event commenced with welcome speeches by Prof. Dr. Utpal Barman, Dean of the Faculty of Computer Science and Technology, and Prof. (Dr.) Narayan Chandra Talukdar, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor of Assam down town University, setting the stage for two days of insightful discussions and knowledge sharing.
A key highlight was the distinguished plenary and keynote sessions, where experts such as Prof. Dr. Dae-Eun KIM from Yonsei University, Korea, Prof. Dr. Elayaperumal Ayyasamy from NIT Nagaland, and Dr. Ramanuj Narayan from CSIR-IMMT, Bhubaneswar, shared insights into cutting-edge research and trends in semiconductor technology. Contributions from eminent scholars, including Prof. Shikhar Kumar Sarma (Gauhati University, Guwahati ), Dr. Satya Gupta (VLSI Society of India), and others, added immense value to the event. Technical sessions featured presentations from leading institutions such as Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati, NIT Nagaland, SRM Institute of Science and Technology (SRMIST) Technology, Manipal University Jaipur, and several national and international organizations, providing researchers a platform to showcase innovative ideas and foster meaningful discussions.
The conference concluded with closing remarks by Ms. Rumi Goswami, Convener-ICSMMT 2024, and Dr. Sanjib Kr Rajbongshi, Co-Chairperson-ICSMMT 2024, emphasizing the collective commitment toward advancing semiconductor research. Adding to the significance of the event, outstanding research presentations were recognized for their innovation and impact. Kuleen Kumar from the Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati was awarded for his research on the Design and Exploration of GaAs-Based Gate All Around Nanowire FET for Millimeter-Wave Applications, while Rekib Uddin Ahmed from MADANAPALLE INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY & SCIENCE Institute of Technology and Science, Andhra Pradesh, received recognition for his work on the Look-Up Table Model for p-Channel Double-Gate MOSFET: A Comparative Study of Silicon and Germanium-Based Devices. Lokhimi Terangpi from Kaziranga University, Jorhat, was also recognized for her study on Enhancing Semiconductor Manufacturing Quality and Efficiency through Computer Vision: A Focus on Real-Time Defect Detection and Automated Inspection.
ICSMMT 2024 showcased groundbreaking advancements while inspiring future collaborations, driving forward innovation in the semiconductor industry and solidifying Assam down town University’s role as a hub for academic and technological excellence.
