Assam down town University recently hosted an insightful session on Careers in the Development Sector, organized by the Programme of Social Work, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Assam down town University, in collaboration with the Indian School of Development Management (ISDM), C 20/5-6, Sector 62, NOIDA. 

The session, led by Juree H., Program Officer, Disability Inclusion, TeamLease Foundation, shed light on the diverse opportunities within Development Management, emphasizing roles beyond grassroots work, including finance, administration, human resources, communication, consultancy, fundraising, and networking in the social impact sector.

A key focus was on CSR in disability management, showcasing how corporate collaborations can drive meaningful inclusion. The discussion also addressed common misconceptions about financial instability in the social sector, illustrating how development careers offer both purpose and long-term professional growth. Students were introduced to ISDM, India’s one of the premier institutes dedicated to professionalizing the social sector, which equips individuals with essential skills in leadership, system design, sustainable scaling, fundraising, and technology & talent management.
