Assam down town University successfully conducted an Anti-Drug Awareness Campaign and Health Camp at Swahid Kushal Konwar High School, Panikhaiti.
Organized by the 60 Assam Girls Battalion, NCC and the 50 Assam Air Squadron (Fly), NCC, the initiative aimed to raise awareness about the dangers of drug abuse and promote healthy living among school students. The Anti-Drug Awareness Talk, specifically designed for students of Classes 7 to 10, addressed the psychological, social, and legal impacts of substance use while encouraging young minds to lead a drug-free life and become catalysts for positive change in their communities.
Simultaneously, a Health Camp was conducted where students received Body Mass Index (BMI) assessments and personalized counselling on nutrition and balanced diets. This segment was actively supported by the dieticians, cadets, and students from the Food, Nutrition and Dietetics (FND) programme of AdtU, who shared essential guidance on maintaining overall well-being.
The collaborative effort of the NCC units and AdtU volunteers resulted in a highly impactful event that reinforced the university’s dedication to community welfare, health awareness, and social responsibility.
