Assam down town University is delighted to announce the grand success of Engineer’s Day 2024, which was organized by the Faculty of Engineering and Faculty of Computer Technology.
The event centered around a symposium on "Recent Trends Fostering the Future of Engineering (RTFFE 2024)" and brought together industry experts, academicians, and students to discuss innovative solutions under the theme "Sustainability Fostering the Future of Engineering."
The day began with a traditional lamp-lighting ritual to represent enlightenment and wisdom, which was followed by a heartfelt greeting from Prof. Dr. Utpal Barman, Dean of the Faculty of Computer Technology. Hon'ble Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Narayan Chandra Talukdar expressed his vision for the future of sustainable engineering, highlighting the importance of creativity in addressing global concerns. The keynote speech by the Chief Guest, Mr. Pradeepta Das, Manager, Building and Factories at L&T, presented fascinating insights into the critical role that engineers play in crafting a sustainable future through innovative construction techniques.
In Session I, "Engineers Ideation Day," students and young professionals showcased their creativity and ingenuity during the Idea Pitch Competition. This session was chaired by Mr. Plabon Bora, Project Consultant at Ernst & Young, who gave an insightful talk on "The Startup Ecosystem in Assam," sparking conversations on entrepreneurship and innovation.
Session II featured technical presentations led by Mr. Baharul Islam, Assistant Professor at AdtU, who demonstrated the application of nanomaterial-based sensors for pesticide detection in tea gardens, highlighting how advanced technology can contribute to sustainability in agriculture.
The event concluded with closing remarks from Mr. Abhijit Dey, Organizing Secretary and Assistant Professor at AdtU, who reflected on the vital role of engineers in integrating sustainability into their work and encouraged continued innovation for a greener, more sustainable world.
