Assam down town University, through the Faculty of Allied and Healthcare Sciences, organised an “Adapted Physical Education Program for Deaf & Dumb Students” as part of its Outreach and Extension Activities at the North East College of Hearing Impaired, Gopinath Nagar, Birubari. 

The program focused on creating awareness among hearing-impaired students about adapted physical education, its purpose, career opportunities, and its role in developing cognitive, motor and essential life skills. 

An interactive sports session was also conducted, featuring volleyball, football and basketball, to enhance the students’ sporting abilities, coordination and confidence. The program was successfully conducted under the guidance and support of Dr. Daisy Sharma, with active participation of students, making it a meaningful step towards inclusive physical education and holistic development.
