Assam down town University celebrated its 17th Foundation Day marking 17 years of growth, learning, people and institutional progress. The celebration was graced by Chief Guest Dr. Tapan Das, Honourable Member of the Legislative Assembly, Assam, whose presence added significance to the occasion.

Speaking at the celebration, Dr. Tapan Das highlighted the important role universities play in shaping young minds and contributing to the development of Assam. He emphasised that “A university’s real strength lies in the opportunities it creates for its young people,” reflecting the importance of education in empowering students and preparing them to contribute meaningfully to society.

We extend our sincere gratitude to Dr. Tapan Das for joining us on this special occasion and for sharing his valuable thoughts and encouragement with the AdtU community. His presence made our 17th Foundation Day even more memorable.

Assam down town University was honoured to welcome Ms. Inga Skruzmane, Deputy Head of Mission, Embassy of Latvia; Dr. Diana Daczi, LLM, Science and Technology Attaché, Embassy of Hungary; and Ms. Namgay Pelden, Vice Consul, Royal Bhutanese Consulate General as the distinguished Guests of Honour at its 17th Foundation Day celebration. 

Their gracious presence added a strong international dimension to the celebration, making the occasion even more meaningful as AdtU marked 17 years of growth, learning and achievement. 

Their valuable perspectives on education, international exposure and the importance of connecting people and countries further enriched the celebration and reinforced the vision of building a more globally connected academic community.
