Master of Tourism and Travel Management is a 2-year full time programme offered by the Department of Hospitality and Tourism Management, Assam down town University. TheTourism Management refers to the activities associated with Itinerary Planning & Tour Operations, Airline Travel Management and similar travel related activities such as Event Management, Foreign Exchange, Hotel booking, etc to name a few.

Upon successful completion of the Master of Tourism & Travel Management (MTTM) degree with a concentration in tourism operations and management the student should be able to:PO1: The programme focuses on holistic development of managerial skills in the students.PO2: Apply the concepts and skills necessary to achieve client satisfaction.PO3: Demonstrate leadership and teamwork to achieve common goals.PO4: Lead with the knowledge that the foundation of tourism is based on the respect for the host culture with the responsibility to perpetuate the unique values, traditions, and practices of that place.PO5: Use knowledge of best practices to further sustainability (economic, environmental, and cultural/ social) in the industry.PO6: Demonstrate ability to perform basic and supervisory level job functions in airline, cargo, tour operation organizations, travel consultant careers and other service-oriented industry like banking, insurance, advertisement, academics, events and public relations.PO7: Get oriented to join administrative services and government sector jobs.PO8:The programme is designed keeping in view the balance between academics and practical inputs as required by the industry.
