Overview of the Programme

The Masters programme in English of Assam down town University has been formulated to sustain and revive an academic interest in literary and cultural theories. The emphasis of this programme is to enhance the interpretative and expressive skills of students in an intellectual environment that is stimulating and nurturing. It will offer specialization papers on different areas which will provide the students an opportunity to develop discipline specific and inter-disciplinary skills. It will also help the students to choose their profession after successfully completing their Master Degree in English.

Programme Outcomes

PO 2: Enhance creative thinking and literary appreciation and refine one's reading taste.

PO 3: Demonstrate a broad understanding of literatures in English and appreciate the role that historical context plays in the creation and interpretation of literary works.
