Bachelor of Performing Arts or BPA is an undergraduate programme that teaches all about various art forms and its related techniques. The course is of three years duration and it focuses on three major aspects of performance and art form - music, dance and drama and provides specialisation to students in any one of these. The course helps students refine their skills and become a successful artist in any of the three varied forms of performing arts - dance, drama and music.
The programme is divided across 6 semesters, of six months each, and the basic eligibility criteria for applying to the programme is a minimum of 12th pass with at least 45% aggregate marks in any stream. However, candidates having a background in performing arts are preferred at the time of admissions.
Performing arts is a form of creative activity that is performed in front of an audience, which includes drama, music, and dance. After pursuing the art form of interest, the students will develop a concrete foundation on that, which later may be developed into various professions like professional stage artist, instructors or performers
