Diploma in Radio-Imaging Technology is a skill based 2 years course in Paramedical Science that deals with Radio- imaging Technology to diagnose various diseases in patients. The course is created for students to obtain knowledge about Radiation Physics, X-Ray, MRI, Ultrasound, CT scan, Darkroom Techniques, etc. this helps the student to develop a career in diagnostic laboratory. After the completion of this Two years course, it is mandatory to undergo Internship for a period of three Months.

To prepare students to succeed in employment/profession and/or to pursue graduation in radiology and imaging technology.
To impart knowledge of radiological and imaging technology required for diagnosis of various ailments.
To provide student with an academic environment that fosters excellence, transparency, leadership and promote awareness of life-long learning.

Knowledge and Skill: Apply the knowledge of radiological sciences and imaging techniques for the solutions to the problems in various diagnostic domains particularly for health care industries/hospitals.
Problem Analysis: Identify and analyze problems related to various medical imaging domains of clinically relevant procedure of the patients and quality of the images.
Modern Techniques Usage: Use latest technique and tools to carry out scientific investigations that helps in diagnosis and treatment.
Ethics and Radiation Protection: Exhibit professional responsibility and safety standards in conducting standardized radiological procedures within the realm of ethical guidelines and radiation safety boards.
Lifelong Learning: Promote regular training and follow quality protocols for the development of professionalism throughout the life.

Demonstrate the knowledge of Medical radiology and diagnostic imaging to apply in diagnosis and prognosis of various clinical conditions.
The students will be able to learn the use of modern techniques in radio imaging technology.
The students will be capable of providing quality reports to be analysed by radiologist. The students will be able to handle patients undergoing imaging process.

Course Overview

This course covers the handling of different equipment's and accessories used in darkroom for processing the x- ray film and various factors affecting the x-ray film and the image.

Course Outcomes

The students will learn about the construction and layout of the processing room and the equipment's and accessories use in darkroom.
Understand the techniques used in processing the x ray film
Learn the different stages of processing the x ray film both manually and automatically to get the final image.

Course Overview

This course covers the detailed structure of x ray machine, its parts, operating principle etc. This mainly will focus on the application of physics in radiology and diagnostic imaging technology. Students will learn about laws of physics, radioactivity, electromagnetic induction, electricity etc.

Course Outcomes

Learn about various instruments and electrical devices and its application in x ray machine.
Learn about the construction and components of x ray unit and the production of x ray.
Learn about AC, DC, Faradays Law and its application

Course Overview

Medical and Radiation physics comprises of the measures taken to protect workers associated with the radiology department and the patient from the harmful effects of radiation utilized in Diagnostic radiology.

Learn about the construction and layout of the radiology department.
Understand the harmful effects of radiation and the measures taken to protect the patient, staff and the workers in the radiology department from the effects radiation.
Learn about Area Monitoring devices, Personnel monitoring devices.

Course Overview

Diagnostic Imaging technique covers the theoretical and practical details of different modalities used in the diagnostic Radiology and basic differences of Ultrasound, CT and MRI from conventional Radiography.

Learn about the principle of ultrasound and MRI, its instrument, its medical applications and its safety aspects.
Understand the basics of different diagnostic radiological modalities (Like ultrasound, CT & MRI)
Learn about the principle of CT, its instruments, its medical applications and the hazards related to it.
