The Faculty of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation is one of the emerging faculties in Assam down town University offering undergraduate, postgraduate and PhD degrees in Physiotherapy. The Faculty of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation consists of around twenty highly qualified teaching and clinical staff accommodating more than five hundred students from North-East India, other parts of the country and also the neighbouring countries of Nepal, Bangladesh, and Bhutan. The faculty has an adequate number of ICT-enabled classrooms and several course-based dedicated laboratories providing experimental, clinical and research-based learning. The courses are designed to give the students an understanding of the human body, based on medical sciences, training in understanding the procedures for therapy and related skill training. A major part of the coursework is practical including an internship period where students work under the supervision of professionals at various hospitals and institutions.
The Faculty of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation aspires to provide exceptional physiotherapy education in a constructive environment to support research-based and technologically relevant physiotherapy practice to foster a holistic boost of teaching-learning approaches with the ever-changing requirements of humankind.
